MEET THE OWNERS

TED AND BETTY WOLFE

Betty and Ted Wolfe didn’t just stumble into hospitality—they rode in with purpose, grit, and a whole lot of elbow grease. Before they were welcoming guests, they were serving their communities: Ted spent over 40 years in law enforcement, and Betty served for 14 before trading her badge for a front desk bell in 2003.

When they bought the Ouray Comfort Inn, Betty dove headfirst into the world of hospitality, while Ted kept one foot in law enforcement and the other firmly planted in the boiler room. On his days off, he was the lodge’s unofficial maintenance man—fixing leaks, wrangling snow blowers, and charming guests with his quiet wit and steady hand.

But hosting wasn’t just about clean rooms and warm coffee—it was about connection. Betty didn’t just greet guests; she geared up and joined them for ice climbing in Ouray’s frozen canyons. And when the sun came out, she and Ted would both hit the roads on their motorcycles, riding side by side with guests through Colorado’s winding backroads. Because when you stay with the Wolfes, you’re not just checking in—you’re joining the adventure.

Now, they’ve brought that same magic to Cedaredge Lodge, nestled along the creek at the base of the Grand Mesa. Betty, a proud Colorado native, brings deep local roots and a knack for making things beautiful. Ted’s the guy who can fix anything (except maybe the remote), and together they’ve raised three kids, doted on four grandkids, and logged countless miles on their bikes—living proof that retirement doesn’t mean slowing down.

They’re also proud supporters of FFA and 4-H, cheering on the next generation of leaders, growers, and doers. Whether it’s livestock shows, county fairs, or community fundraisers, Betty and Ted believe in rolling up their sleeves and showing up with heart.

At Cedaredge Lodge, every stay is infused with adventure, comfort, and a touch of spiritual warmth. Whether you’re here to ride, relax, fish, hike, or just breathe, Betty and Ted welcome you with open arms and a few good laughs.
